Lorde on Track for First-Ever Number One Album with ‘Virgin’
Lorde is poised to secure her first-ever Official Number One album in the UK with her latest release, Virgin. According to the Official Charts, the New Zealand singer-songwriter’s fourth studio album is outselling her previous records, putting her on course for the top spot.
Her 2013 debut, Pure Heroine, peaked at Number Four, while 2017’s Melodrama reached Number Five. Her 2021 album, Solar Power, narrowly missed the Top 10, landing at Number 11.

- Bruce Springsteen is heading for his 25th solo Top 10 album with Tracks II: The Lost Albums, a collection of 82 previously unreleased songs from recordings between 1983 and 2018.
- Rod Stewart is set to score his 39th solo Top 10 LP with Ultimate Hits, a career-spanning compilation that originally peaked at Number Three.
- Following his emotional Glastonbury 2025 performance, Lewis Capaldi is seeing a resurgence in his back catalog. His 2019 debut, Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent, is predicted to jump 99 places, while his 2023 album, Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent, is set to re-enter the Top 40.
- Capaldi’s new single, Survive, is also on track to dethrone Sabrina Carpenter’s Manchild for the Number One spot on the Official Singles Chart.
Lorde’s Virgin is expected to officially claim the top position when the Official Albums Chart is announced later this week.
