Prince William Surprises England Women’s Football Team with Motivational Visit

Prince William made an unexpected appearance at St. George’s Park in Burton on Monday, delighting the England Lionesses as they prepare for the 2025 UEFA Women’s Euro.

As the Patron of the Football Association, the Prince of Wales met with the squad to wish them luck ahead of the tournament. During his visit, he engaged in key activities, including a briefing from Head Coach Sarina Wiegman on the team’s readiness for the competition.

William also observed a Made for This Game session with a junior girls’ football team formed after the Lionesses’ historic 2022 victory. In a special gesture, he helped print and present official tournament shirts to each of the 23 players selected for the national squad.

The royal is expected to travel to Switzerland to cheer on the team as they defend their European Championship title.

The Prince and Princess of Wales’ official Instagram account shared photos of the visit, capturing William’s interactions with the players and his support for women’s football.
